   Hi, It might appear slightly personal, but i have a query regarding my blogging aspect. I work as a ghost writer for several blogs and its my job to write content for almost 20 blogs catering to diverse subjects. I also have a personal blog that has my poems and proses. However, given the knowledge base i have collected over last two years i want to have my own blog where i can provide information about different categories. Could you people please suggest me whether i should start this work on a blog like blogger/wordpress or should i register my own domain name? your suggestion will be really appreciated.

   Two ways to go about this: Both involve getting yourself some form of a WordPress blog. If all you're interested in is spreading the word of your work to the world then opt for a pre-loaded blogging service like http://www.wordpress.com

   If, on the other hand, you wish to monetise your content and earn from it, then you need to be able to change and tweak things around, which means you're better off with a self-hosted WordPress installation which will give you the freedom to fine-tune almost every aspect of your blog/site. Naturally, you'll be responsible for maintaining it, so you have to be prepared to work as your own tech support (unless you find someone trustworthy and knowledgable enough to carry out the task(s) on your behalf).

   In both cases, I recommend that you get yourself a domain name and thus ensure that whichever method / type of blog host that you choose - your domain name will reflect on you anmd your work as a brand.

   Hi @Mritunjay What @sparx has conveyed you is absolutely correct.. Decide yourself.. if you want to monetize then go for a registered domain with Wordpress hosted or you can also try with JOOMLA incase you want to do in big scale with huge visitor and want a blog which look like a website...

   You can get number of services or a freelance technical person to configure your blog in wordpress and pay them the charge and then you can blog without having any technical experience...
