well..I am not sure whether it is true or not. I used a method in my website to prevent seeing ads from my computer. It's quite simple by using a cookie. The following is an example in ASP.
1. Create a page like cookiesetter.asp which will set a cookie that expires after an year long.
<%response.cookies("preventads")="true"
response.cookies("preventads").Expires="12/31/2010"%>
2. Now in your pages which show ads, keep your ad code in an if condition.
<%if request.cookies("preventads")<>"true" then%>
your adsense code or analytics here
<%end if%>
3. Now just visit cookiesetter.asp page from your browser. Once the cookie is set, the ads will not be displayed on your computer. For other users, the ads will remain as it is.
I am not sure whether browsing your website many times will affect your stats or not. But, google will count pageloads not unique visits. I am not sure if this can violate adsense TOS or not.
I prefer not to take a risk and remove ads for sessions from my computer. That way you will also not have problem of clicking ads by chance.
My adsense click value very less - avg.$0.05.

its impossible to manage a blog or site without viewing the same, i think only experts can answer this.

JUst disabling Javascript in your web browser will prevent displaying Google ads in ur computer...
for firefox -> tools -> options -> content -> remove tick mark in enable javascript and java box
That's it ...
After viewing your website just make a tick mark in that to make your browser back..
