My name is Ramanujam and I am one of the core organizers of the Startup Community event that happens in India under the name Proto.in. I am sure given that you write content that is relevant to this space, I am sure that you would have heard about it, but in case not, I thought I could briefly introduce it to you: Well, a few years back - two years to be precise - we realized that the startup ecosystem was almost non-existent. Whatever existed was mostly for bigger corporations and there was no one place which brought together all the crucial elements of the ecosystem together so that conversations freely happened.
Proto.in has been "The Startup event", growing to be that space, and as much as we have a long way to go, we've also come quite a long way in the past two years.
We come together once in every six months, bringing together entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, veterans, investors, technologists, bloggers, mentors, bankers, media professionals, hackers, mavericks, students, and even folks from the government bodies such as DST, NASSCOM, TiE, IAMAI, so that we can build a cohesive and sensible ecosystem here in India.
The Upcoming edition is coming up in Delhi, going national for the first time, in the dates of July 18th and 19th, and tentatively planned in the halls of the Indian Institute of Technology - Delhi.
Now, how does this all relate to you? Two ways.
1. As a blogger, we are hoping that you could help us promote and spread the word. We have blog promotion badges available at proto.in/proto2008se/badge.shtml, and would really appreciate you helping us.
2. As a popular blog that is enjoying quite a bit of readership, we'd be open to giving you 2-3 entry passes for the event that you can feel free to disburse to readers of your blog with a competition or anything that would get them more involved and to interact in this forum.
We also extent you a hearty invitation to the event and we would be glad if you can live blog the event.
