Problems with Blogger's Read More

(4 posts)
  1. I am using the Read More feature of Blogger to display a summary of my posts at the home page. But I have recently found out that it is causing different problems.
Pages take much more time to load, because all the content is still compiled in the source, but just tagged as display:none.

But the most annoying problem is that during crawl, Google indexed the home page (which includes the hidden text!!) and is displaying the link to the homepage during search, rather than the page of the post. This creates problems as posts become older and are removed from the home page.

Please advise me on how to solve this. Is there any other ways for displaying a post summary? I have been to many blogger blogs but haven't seen anything such.
I am also concerned that it is against the TOS as you can't display pages differently to bots and users.

    Pls help

  2. Well. I better opt for Wordpress. Blogger seems to be easier but less customizable.

  4. The "Read More" feature in Blogger is just a workaround since it only hides the remaining article via CSS display:none attribute but the content is still getting loaded and hence the load time is more.
