Problems with Blogger Sitemap and Alt Tag

    Hi

Can someone help me with these problems?

1: I tried to add a sitemap to the google webmaster tools (a sitemap for my blog on blogspot.com) and used the instructions on your page with title "Fix Blogger Sitemap XML Warnings Inside Google Webmaster", but when I type example.blogspot.com/atom.xml
or example.blogspot.com.atom/xml in the sitemap url field, I got an error message.

I also added the required link in the template of my blog hoping this was the fault I made, but without any result. I burned my feed with feedburner, and don't know what to do next to solve the problem.

    What did I wrong?

I also read that blogspot generates a sitemap of my blog automatically, but how can I feed this sitemap to the google webmaster tools?

2: Concerning verification of my blog:

I pasted the metatag after the title-tag in my template. Is that correct?

3: How do I upload the alt-tagcode for adding an alt-tag to my photo (cf. in the profile)? Do I need to paste this code into the template? I didn't find a button to add an alt-tag in the page where you can edit the photo, there you can choose to shrink the image, but nothing else. I want to add an alt-tag to the photo, because I want to provide my fellow blind internet surfers a description of the image.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Best,
    Katty

Katty, you need to enter the following URL in the Google Webmaster dashboard for the Sitemap

    http://kattykrabbelt.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false

Regarding point 2 - you can post the question anywhere between the words <head> and </head> in your blogger template.

For Point 3 - alt tag is used only for images not for the text.

I read your answer on my questions on the forum, but the problems aren't solved, I'm afraid.

I tried to add the url http://kattykrabbelt.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false to the dashboard in google webmaster tools, by trying to add the link above as the first thing after I logged in, but the error message I got is something like "you tried to add the address of a file, please add the url of a website".

When I used the http://kattykrabbelt.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false by pasting it into the field of the sitemap url, the error message I saw in the past appeared again.

Why is it so difficult to tell google webmaster tools where it can find my blog sitemap?

Concerning the alt-tag, I want to place the tag for the replacement of the following text, that is indicating my image "my image". So, now the alt-tag that is standard attached to the image reads "my image", and I'd like to change that tag.

But how to do this? Thanks.

Could you post a screenshot of your Google Webmaster dashboard where you get the error. Just upload the screenshot to imageshack and post a link in this forum.
