I was having a doubt regarding Dreamhost subdomains. Can you please guide me how to create subdomains like "www.mydomain.com/subdomain"
I am not able to do it via "Add domain/ Subdomain" . It is showing as error.
Only "www.subdomain.mydomain.com" is possible.

You can do it by simply creating a folder inside your main domain folder with the subdomain name. If you want to install wordpress or a forum in this subdomain then copy the files in the subdomain folder and type the url http://www.mydomain.com/subdomain in your browser and install what you want.

Correct. Anything following a / in a URL is not technically a sub-domain. Kiranjeevi's solution to create a folder is spot on.
If you want you can use URL redirection either via your settings / cpanel or by editing your .htacess file.
