Hello friends,

I am planning to create some video tutorials for my blog. I plan to do it using Camatasia Studio. The problem is that I am unable to find any good headphone & mic in my locality. The best available which I purchased was from Intex (Rs. 180/). However, it turned out to be a piece of trash. It keeps giving me electrical shock every now & then. Though the headphone is good, the mic does not work properly. As and when I record something, it goes silent.

Can you please suggest any good headphone and mic for normal recording. I am not looking for any higher end gadget. Just something that suitas my budget which will be Rs 1000-1500/-

Since you don't have a choice to buy a good one at your locality I would suggest buying a mic online.

I use this Plantronics Mic audio 350 like this and its very good.

Creative products are very good in audio quality so you could buy one at creative.rediff.com

Thanks for replying. "Plantronics Mic audio 350" looks to be a good option. However, in picture it appears that its cord is short in length. Is it so ?

Plantronics Head Phone Mic Audio 350 cable length is 9.8 feet, I think that should be long enough for most people.

I was earlier using Altec Lansing microphones and was pretty satisfied. Got them from eBay through some reseller in Chennai.

Some of the things to look for when choosing a set of headphones
- over the ear or inside the ear ,
- size of the headphones,
- folding option for compact storage,
- wired or wireless,
- length of chord if its wired,
- volume control and on/off switch on the headphones

You can not go wrong with brands like sony, philips, creative, logitech, plantronics other reputed brands and should work well with PC and mp3 players. Then there are really highend ones like Bose which will cost you a lot but you have to decide if you can afford it.

Before buying see if you can find some reviews on that particular model on Amazon.com or other sites.

Where to buy: Go to local store or buy online.
