I am an online publisher from India and I want to know whether it is possible to have multiple Adsense Accounts for different members in the family.

Get ONE adsense account, and use it for mutiple websites, developed by different members of your family.

But what if we do we want separate checks. Moreover we do not want to mix things up. We have different bank accounts.

Having Multiple adsense accounts under different payee names is possible.Just make sure that
1.You have separate home addresses,phone numbers for each one.
2.Separate email to apply obviously.But i dont think there is any need to create Multiple adsense accounts.1 is more than sufficient

I read the thread nilangshah. This is actually a tricky situation.
What can one do if (s)he is staying with friends and sharing the same physical address. I think this needs more clarification from Google.

I am still not satisfied by the answers I got. What if two families live on the different floors of the same house ???????

MemberVijay - Here's what my AdSense rep said when I asked a similar question last year:
AdSense publishers in certain countries (like India) can have only one Adsense account per physical address.

If two families are living on different floors of the same apartment building, they technically have different postal addresses so that should not be a concern with AdSense.
You probably cannot have multiple AdSense payees with the same permanent address.

MemberAs of now,no 2 accounts should have the same permanent address.
Google can't verify whether you along with your friends stay in the same room or not.Right?.
They just take it for granted that a person is maintaining multiple accounts if your permanent address matches with that of any other.
If the problem's serious,try giving another friend's address who doesn't have/likely to have an Adsense account.
