Modifying/Updating the same Post several times.

    Hi Amit,

    I would like to know if it is a good idea to modify the same post say 8 to 10 times in a month or in several months.

    What I mean is if I want to update the contents of the Post over time is it a good idea to do that?

    Does it affect page ranking? Also will that create several versions of the same post? If so can the old versions of the same page be deleted?

    Hi HemantJ,

    Whether such a practice is a good idea or not depends mainly on the type of post. If the post maintains some info which is required to maintained/updated periodically then it should be fine. You can of course choose to have separate posts beloging to a different date/time-ranges.

    I don't think that changing the contents will affect the Page Ranking.

    And yeah, updating an existing post doesn't (not automatically I guess) create a new copy. Instead it overwrites the original one. It's similar to modifying and saving any other file. Hope the info helps.
