    Hi.

May I request your help for the following:
I have the google site-search button on my blog www.dsplog.com.

As of now, the site-search shows the results on google
page. However I wish to display the search results within my blog (like it is implemented in www.labnol.org).

How do I do this? Kindly advise.

    Thanks,
    Krishna

There is an option available on Google CSE page. Just type in Google CSE in google search and you are ready to go..

You can set this up using Google Custom Search Engine.

Create a new page on your blog that will host the search results and Google CSE will generate the code accordingly.

Thanks both. I kinda figured out Google Custom Search Engine configuration and linking to Adsense.
Now the missing part is to figure out how to create the page on the blog (which has boot header and footer) and can host the search results from CSE.

Let me look around. If you have any articles to point, it will be very helpful.

    Thanks again,
    Krishna

    Thanks Amit :)
Using your search.html as a reference, I stitched up a quick-and-dirty custom search page. Now I need to add the frills.

    One more q:
The height of the search box seems to be higher than the standard height of the custom search engine text box. May I know how?

    Thanks,
    Krishna

  6. Hello Krishna,

"Now the missing part is to figure out how to create the page on the blog (which has boot header and footer) and can host the search results from CSE."

If you want I can create and e-mail you search.html page with your own header and footer style.

Thanks Shodan. Infact I was about to reply that I learned quie a bit while doing the trial and error for search.html. Hence I would rather proceed the trial-and-error way.

Anyhow, when I checked my email, you had already sent me the file. Thanks for your kind consideration.

However, as stated prior, I will try continue the trial-and-error way to figure this out. Ofcourse, I will us e your file for my explorations.

  9. Here's a link to a neatly written step-by-step how-to.

It describes and also explains the reasons behind opting for Google CSE rather than using the default WordPress search.
