   Dear Amit Sir, I need your advice,

   I am in small IT firm but yesterday I got laid off from company because of ongoing recession (didn’t even allowed to take 30 days notice period). I have my own technology blog (www.blogsdna.com) where I have been blogging for last 9 months.

   Traffic has grown to 4-4.5k Visitors per day and about 6.5-7k PV per day . I am currently using Adsense only (no other ad network or any soft of advertising) on my blog for last 6 month but money started flowing for last 3 month where in October I got 167$ and November this blog earned 415$. I am expecting December to reach to 600$+.

   my salary was about 16k PM. Now my concern is should I put my all effort on my blog and start making living from my blog or Search for another job ?

   I am pretty sure that with current scenario getting new job will be going to difficult considering I am oracle dba which already have very less openings.

   Relying on blog is risky since blog earning and traffic may not stay stable over a period, can’t even guess on stability based on just 3 month. Added to this most of my blog traffic (about 45%) is based on News/Latest Technology Buzz related post which will die after some time.

   Please Amit sir, advice me what should I do …..???

   Sad to hear that. Its tough time, and faith really helps to get along such phases.
   As you said blogging and IM don't have any guaranteed stability, but then software jobs are not very secure these days.
   Your blog traffic and revenue looks decent. Try to work on the same line of action. I am sure revenue and traffic will increase with time.
   To be honest, 6 months or an year is not a very duration for a blog to get established. So you can give a bit more time and see how things are going.

   Apart from blogging you can try to provide some online services. As you have mentioned on your blog that you have interest in SEO. Its a hot field and there is lot of potential. Try to develop a business model based on your skills and knowledge.

   From my point of view, its not the right time to go for full time blogging. As Arpit said try working on your blog more, improve your skills, offer services and do part-time freelancing. I strongly believe you will get a job soon.

   Hi Sandip,

   It's really sad to know that you got laid off, but as they say whatever happens, happens for the good. I hope the same will happen in your case as well.

   Your blog is already doing quite good considering it's only 9 months old. According to me, full time blogging may prove to be a riskier business for you especially at this stage, so it would probably be better to get a job and I'm sure you'll anyway continue doing good at your blog. Who knows, maybe few months down the line you would see your blog at a stage where you can comfortably switch to full-time blogging.

   All the very best for your future. May you get a good (maybe even better than your previous one) soon and may you keep rocking at BlogsDNA!

   I suggest you to go full time blogging and try to earn good income. Select good business and invest your money. I will do same.

   I would like to thank Arpit, 0xff, geekexplains & Articles2u for tanking time and replying to my thread. i can see the suggestions are kinda mixed one. I am still pretty unclear and in dilemma situation.

   I can very well understand Amit sir pretty busy whole day and may not be checking forums every day. I want to hear suggestions from Amit sir. If answer goes to blogging continuation then it will be going to great moral boost for me.

   So will be waiting for Amit sir suggestions mean while I am still ready to hear thoughts from other forum members and experienced Bloggers.

   Software jobs are now the most riskiest jobs ever.I friend of mine was thrown out of IBM company without any reason.

   If are trying to earn a living from the online world then you will have to study a lot first.Instead of just relying on blogging you could do a lot others like affiliate marketing and forex trading.These are the most richest money earning jobs online.But to be a successful marketer you gotta learn many things and do a LOT OF EXPERIMENTS.

   hi blogsdna,
   i went through your blog. it seems to have good content with a very high PR of 6 and Alexa rank of 6000.. This is a very good achievement for you if you have been doing it in your pass time. You are already earning more than your salary from the blog. I think it is not a bad idea to dedicate yourselves on your blog. With a little more effort , you can start getting ads besides google ads..I would suggest you to carry on with your blog
