I was going to enter. But rule #4 is wrong on so many levels.
4. Your entries become a property of Digital Inspiration
So let me recap that. HP assigned you to organize a give-away. Instead, you want people to do your work for you in the faint hope your site becomes more successful by appeasing a larger audience by having more content. Let's see, the average contest so far had well over 500 entries. That's 500 additions to your website, all free to use by your discretion. Very egocentric "competition," and quite frankly, I'm disgusted by it. No, just no. While your intentions may have been good, that rule showed true intentions.
I will not be surprised if this comment gets deleted. Just proves me right.

I'm going to agree with elx_1043 here. I don't think that handing over ownership of IP, completed code, design or creative content as an entry requirement. I don't think that's what Buzz Corps had in mind when they put this shebang together.

A thought...
If you guys scratch #4, or change it to a specific, existing license (Creative Commons, perhaps) or at least a non-exclusive, revocable license, then we could talk.Posted 4 months ago # -
Your blog post doesn't specify how the winner will be selected. Is it a random drawing from all entries, or will you be selecting the "best" entry?
And I agree with some of the previous comments about Rule #4 being too constrictive.

I'm guessing we will have feedback in the next 5-12 hours. Please correct me If i'm wrong as this is only a guess.
I have my fingers crossed about this laptop, I put a lot of effort into the tip sheets that I made. It took a fair while to get a screenshot for each step. I know I probably should not of spent this amount of time on this competition (with it being mid year exams and all).
It's just that I really need this laptop for my art creation, video creation and overall just a reliable laptop for my final years at school.Posted 4 months ago # -
I can understand Sharpshooter. I am inspired in becoming a computer programer and also a band director. So I use alot of programs that require RAM and Hard Drive. It would Also become dependent notebook for high school. And possibly College Im in the process of applying for a band scholarship from Texas A&M to attend for 4 to 6 years. My Computer Hard Drive and Motherboard fried. So I am pretty vulunerable towards school rite now. And Im using my friends computer to check on the competition. I would be blessed to win this!

I wonder what Conrad posted, hopefully he put some effort into it. Otherwise I would be annoyed as I put at least 4 hours getting all the screen shots and then wording the document. The thing is I did this 3 times when I made 3 different tip sheets.
Well anyway I hope my effort helps someone to create some artistic stuff on the computer.
Anyway congratulations to Conrad :)Posted 4 months ago #
