This method will work for MPG files for sure, but I'm uncertain whether AVI or WMV file would work equally as well.
1. Open a command prompt window - START > RUN 'cmd'
2. Navigate to the folder where the multiple mpg clips are stored, ( If they're in C:\Clips, type in "cd\clips".
3. As per your request, you want ALL the mpgs to be merged into one file, so type this in:copy /b *.mpg FullMovie.mpg
ALL your mpgs will now be merged into the large FullMovie.mpg
TIP: name your files in the order you want them to be merged:
clip001.mpg
clip002.mpg
clip003.mpg

You may try Merge MP3. Merge MP3 is a free program that allows you to drag and drop MP3 files onto a playlist, change the order, preview the audio and then mix them all into a single MP3 files along with APIC images and ID3 meta-data.

@lancehibner: The original poster was for mpg movie files, not MP3 audio. Still good info for those interested in joining audio clips.
