@Techlee: asked and answered. Don't you remember this thread?
Also, here's Amit's take on it.

hi sparx,
i remeber the thread and thank u for your help in the same.
however, i think i framed the question wrong this time.
actually i wanted to ask, how do you submit it to the Firefox addons -https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ - so that others can download it from there..Posted 2 years ago # -
Submit it to Mycroft - that is *the* repository for all entries for the Firefox search box.
If you want to submit extensions/themes to Mozilla Addons, you need to sign up. After you submit your extension / theme (search XMLs not yet supported, you need to create a full XPI package), it will be reviewed and only then will it be approved.

hi sparx,
thanks for the info.
any help i can get on the XPI package from somewhere.
eg, is it possible to see the XPI package of Labnol (if they have made one)Posted 2 years ago # -
UPDATE: Further research shows that the search plugins in the Mozilla Firefox Addons site are in fact XML files and NOT packaged XPIs. My previous post is therefore partially incorrect. Since search XMLs are currently NOT being accepted, your only alternative is the Mycroft search engine repository.
