Hi Amit,
I see from the FAQ that the hosting of labnol.com is done on Dreamhost. With millions of viewers hitting the site in a month, what has been the experience with Dreamhost hosting this site? Is it on a shared server or a completely dedicated set of servers are used?
Some info on this would be great to people like me who want start some ecommerce kind of sites that expects good number of hits (if not millions like yours :-) )

labnol.com is used dedicated servers in Dreamhost hosting.
Dreamhost is best for starting ecommerce sites, it provide good service. I will also plan to shift my two websites to dreamhost.

Labnol.org is not on a dedicated server but something called a "private server" where you have the option to control the amount of memory dedicated to your "private server" plus you can reboot it at will if things go bad.
I think two things help me survive - the WP Super Cache plugin and Amazon S3 where I host all the images / css / javascript files. See Hosting Images on Amazon S3.
I want to host my blog on dreamhost shared server. Currently my blog get average 800 visitors per day and plan to get 5000 per day. Please provide me your suggest. Shared server gets any error?
