Hi
I need some help. Whenever I try to open youtube the browser (IE6) closes down and a dialog box with the message "youtube is banned" displays. Have you faced this anytime. Any help or pointers would be great.

Are you accessing YouTube from your office ? It's possible that your employer has some internet filtering software that's blocking access to YouTube.
Try a site like splashcastmedia.com or truveo.com to check if you can watch youtube video there.

I am from India. I am on the backbone of a US company.
I managed to find a solution to my problem. Apparently, my computer is infected by a malware called heap41a. I will try removing the malware and see if that works.

MemberHow do you plan to remove heap41a virus?
Google tells me that it resides in your C: drive under the heap41a folder. Maybe start you computer in safe mode in safe mode and delete that folder or use any of these online virus scanners.

Finally I managed to remove the virus. I wasn't able to delete it because regedit and task manager were blocked, and the Folder Options menu wasn't available to unhide the folder. I used System Restore to reset the system to a previous date's setting. This allowed me to unhide the folder and delete it in the safe mode.
