   Apps is identical to GMail in all internal respects including Labs features now as well.

   The biggest benefits are more space plus you can recover deleted messages from Gmail.

   @Amit: Original Poster specified interest in the Free edition, not Premier. That's why I didn't jump in with Premier features. BTW, did you know, Sify uses GMail for Apps? I think it's a great idea to use something proven, tested and used by loads of people.

   That's a good idea. Even web hosting companies like dreamhost and godaddy suggest using Google Apps with Gmail instead of their own mail servers. I guess they all want to "outsource" the mailing jobs to more capable services and stay focused on hosting.
