How\where can i get a free .edu email account ?

I'd like to know why you want one...

Could it be because of this?

In any case, .edu means an educational institute. Join one and you're sure to get a mailbox. Most modern schools and colleges provide their students with one? I'm unsure about anyone's ability to purchase a .edu domain and then hosting mailboxes without the appropriate credentials to go along with it.
