Firefox 3.0 release date

    Would anyone know about the exact release date of Firefox 3.0.

    OReilly earlier said that Firefox 3.0 will be released in Q3 or Q4 of 2007 but we know that will not happen.

    I am especially looking for auto-update feature in Firefox 3 that will download and install Firefox extensions in the background automatically.

    its always better to know what firefox is downloading than to let firefox do that in the background..

    that way atleast you know what is happening there behind the scenes..else later there are moments when people complain about firefox slowdown..!!

    by the way I don't know the exact date when FF3 will be shot out :)

    UPDATE: RC2 is now expected in the forst week of June. Expect v3 final to be released within a fortnight after that.

    Mozilla is planning to set a new Guinness World Record for the most number of downloads in a single day. More details here and here.
