   I wonder if you can help me out on a certain issue I've been having a lot of trouble with
   I have been trying for a while now to extract data from pdf files that I have in a usable format so I can work with it in excel or access.

   Havent had any luck unfortunately. I'm attaching a sample of the kind of data I wish to extract, just that there are thousands of pages like these. If I can get the data into 10 columns just like it appears in the pdf file, I'm good, but everything I try gets the data all jumbled up

   I've got Acrobat Pro 8 & 5 & I've tried all the exports that those programs have to no avail

   If anyone here can help me do this, I will be eternally grateful

   Alex, there are several methods to extract data from PDF in Excel or Tabular formats -it all depends on your budget.

   Commercial Options:

   1. Cogniview Eudi (www.cogniview.com) - the most simple solution for converting PDF in Excel files (read detailed review)

   2. Abbyy PDF Transformer - more advanced, integrates with your Microsoft Office programs

   Free Options:

   If you are looking for free PDF to Excel converter, either use the text selection tools in Adobe Reader or better still, use GMail to convert the PDF into an Excel file. Instructions here

   My personal favorite is Eudi.

   Thanks Amit

   I'll check out the commercial options the free Gmail option is not viable for me given the size of the files - besides, I'm hoping for a seamless transitions, errors in the extraction / conversion can cause even more problems for me....

   Are those 2 the most powerful options available? & you mention Eudi, whats that? when I get on the cogniview website it only shows pdf2xl....

   So they probably renamed Eudi to PDF to Excel. They should have a free download of the trial version.

   I just wanted to check back & express my gratitude

   PDF2XL works like a CHARM!!!!
