Please solve my doubts. Plzz.....
Alright, let's give this a try...
1. What are torrents ?
2. What is the use of torrents ?
Torrents are files that are used by the BitTorrent P2P protocol. A ".torrent" file is a file that contains the basic information about a file or set of files. This includes the file names, sizes, the date created and some other information. The torrent file also contains an info hash - which is basically just a unique code for that torrent. No other set of file(s) will have the same info hash as this one. The final thing contained inside the torrent is a list of trackers. If you have some torrent files, you can't open them in a text editor because they are encoded. You will need to open them in torrent client software.
3. To download torrents fast we have to need more peers ? Why do we need more peers ?</blokquote>
A little incorrect. Your peers are like you - they're downloading/uploading parts of the the file. Seeders are people who have some part of the file; ergo more seeders, the better / faster the download.
4. Which is the best site for downloading torrents (more peers) ?
Try meta search engines like www.torrentz.com that search the major sites hosting torrent trackers.
5. Torrents are more faster than regular downloads ?
Not necessarily - a typical BitTorrent download will gradually rise to very high speeds, and then slowly fall back down toward the end of the download. This contrasts with an HTTP server that, while more vulnerable to overload and abuse, rises to full speed very quickly and maintains this speed throughout.
6. Why some people are interested in torrents ?
Define "some people". Are they the same people who are interested in football, photography, Star Trek, microbiology, existential philosophy etc.? Each person has their own unique interests - you'll have to ask the individual(s) concerned about their interest.
7. Torrents are legal ?
As good as asking - "Are downloads legal?".
The process is completely legal. What counts is the content - whether you're downloading software/data that you're authorised/allowed to download or whether you're a pirate is entirely up to you.
