They're totally on the level and ad-free. You get unlimited space and bandwidth for hosting and email.
Although, new accounts aren't currently being offered, keep checking from time to time.
FuelSpace has an arrangement for ad-sharing. However, I don't know how reliable they are.
It's best to have paid hosting where you are in complete control of what you publish - be it a blog or forum or website.
