(1). Adobe Acrobat is expensive, slow and allows only 2 installs. (2). I have thousands of downloaded PDF scientific articles and need to annotate (underline, highlight, margin notes, stamps, etc) them when reading/analyzing them. (3) Free acrobat reader will do the annotation but the files must first be opened in acrobat and enabled for commenting in reader -very slow process. (4) I need to batch enable groups or folders full of PDFs for commenting in Reader. (5)Adobe sells Livecyle Reader Extensions ES that will do this. Cost ~$10,000 and requires a server. The only other software that claims to do this is RubyPDF (http://blot.rubypdf.com/product). However the "purchase licence" links are "page not found", so it can't be purchased. It is also not clear if RubyPDF would enable for commenting in Reader 8. Does anyone know of another product that will batch enable PDF files for commenting?
