Hi Amit,
Can you tell me what bandwidth your main DI blog consumes per month?..are you on a dedicated server with dreamhost?...i am going to start a blog but not sure what bandwidth my blog will use...and with so much of overselling happening,its hard to choose a webhost....so wanted to get an idea what bandwidth/month a hugely popular blog like yours' consumes.

yeah even I would like to know that..
I am using dreamhost and they provide 4TB of BW. Is that enough for some kind of slashdot effect or digg effect or linkbait effect?

I am wondering which hosting services you are using for labnol.org. I have tried couple of hosting services which are very unsatisfactory. Most of the current hosting services offer tons of Bandwidth... but I think bandwidth ALONE is not a factor in choosing a hosting services - even before your 2% of their BW limit, they would shut down your website citing OVER-USE of 'their' resources (on a shared-hosting). Now I am wondering which service to choose if I want to host my website on VPS or Dedicated (which is expensive). Your view point on this will be very helpful for all of us.

I think Amit is also using dreamhost (I do not know which plan) for labnol.org
but shameel is it really the case that if 2% of the service is used they block your website??does this happen Amit?
please tell me if my 4TB from dreamhost is enough to sustain the digg effect?

As everyone said, I use DreamHost for Labnol.org and Google Web hosting for labnol.blogspot.com
The new site labnol.org receives a fair amount of traffic and dreamhost manages it pretty well though it has been down a couple of times in the past few months.
Not seen the bandwidth reports but am sure I am much below the threshold.
