			<description>&#60;p&#62;The last option I can think of is the Registry.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;It's for sure that when you uninstall Firefox, the traces are left behind which are automatically picked up during a fresh install.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Carefully delete all registry keys that are about Mozilla or Firefox. [Slightly risky option though]

			<description>&#60;p&#62;I think that's due to some Firefox extension that modifies the status bar (like download status, alexa ranks, foxytunes, Linky, etc)&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;First see if any update is available for your Firefox extension. Install them.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Then try running Firefox with new profile without extensions (read this article on &#60;a href=&#34;http://labnol.blogspot.com/2007/09/firefox-runs-slow-speed-memory-fast.html&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;slow firefox&#60;/a&#62;) and see if the problem persists ?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;If the problem is removed, your next task is the catch the culprit extension - disable extensions one-by-one and restart Firefox until you catch the one that causing that Gray bar near the status bar.

I've been using firefox for a long time.But from the past few days there is some 1 inch bar (blank space) being displayed below the status bar.&#60;br /&#62;
Please help me removing it.&#60;br /&#62;
