Hello i just met your site and i like it but i have some questions(i send you a mail)

Thanks for the data i think i can use it but i don't understand some part of your article

but first of all my problem is; i got a 32 bit XP OS with a printer(hp laserjet 2300n) attached a network(like 30 of us use at work), i want to use it with my laptop (new) which has 64 bit W7 OS but although i can see the printer i can't use it it gave an error message like you said (error message saying that Windows cannot find the drivers for your printer.)

Your article;

Next, run the installer on the host computer (the one the printer is connected to) just like you were going to install the driver on the computer. Then when it asks if you want to update or uninstall, click cancel.

Now, you need to find the folder that driver was extracted to. Open Run (Win+R), and type in “C:\Users\your user name\appdata\local\temp” without the quotes, and substitute your user name where I have the user name in italics. Now find the folder that was created most recently and doesn’t begin with a parenthesis.

On my computer, after installing an HP printer the folder name started with a “7z” and then had a half dozen other random characters. The folder should contain folders that say things like drivers, images, and a couple of other things, and it should also contain a lot of files that have the model name of your printer. Now click on the address bar, select the entire line, and copy it (Ctrl+A and then Ctrl+C).

What i don't undertstand is;

1- First i install the drivers from HP site (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=238805&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=238800) You said run the installer, which one i run the 64 bit one or 32 bit one. When i double click the install the 64 bit one it said it is not valid WIN32 so what can i do, reinstall the 32 bit driver which has not got a install app in the driver folder?

2- You said "you need to find the folder that driver was extracted to" i can't extact it when i did that it gave me an error said "error 5 running command ./install" Then you said run, when i double click the .zip file it shows me run the click it i enter your “C:\Users\your user name\appdata\local\temp” without the quotes but i don't understand italics part. (by the way my user name is koli)

3- You said "HP printer the folder name started with a “7z” i don't have such a folder name like that.

Just to confirm what i get is; i have nothing to do with W7 64 bit till the end, all i got work with XP 32 bit, am i correct?

i hope you will help me, waiting for your response

Thanks alot
