Or it could be that tag urls were indexed and have very strong PR. So if there is no links on the blog to tags but Google keeps them indexing. However this should not be true to new tags which have no previous posts under it.

maybe you are right. but if possible, it may be good to know since it helps us understand Google behaiviour.

Perhaps not...but I think this sort of behaviour is what you get when a sitemap is submitted to Google. Amit can answer this best. Besides, having URLs within WOrdpress powered blogs with /tag and /category are in-built features.

Hi Sparx, I think what he is asking is that how Google is able to pick up the tags since they are not given anywhere on the site. I don't think Google will pick the tag from the URL

??

Aren't there? Look at the top right corner - tags for each thread are listed there.

This particular thread is tagged with the terms "labnol" and "Tags"

UPDATE: I misunderstood your question initially - I now realise you meant on the Digital Inspiration blog. While tags are not visible (that is naturally dependent on the template that you employ), the category under which a post has been placed can be discerned via the URL. Check it out...

I noticed that there are no visible or invisible links for TAGS and categories at Labnol.org posts. This is very interesting and I wonder how Google finds those tags.
This link http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Alabnol.org%2Ftag+imagine&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq= proves that tags are still here.

So what is the trick with that?
