That's coz the inherent nature of the web is far too trusting. THe current and traditional concept of email was valid and good when it was designed by and for academics. The dark and seamy side of the Internet is quite visible for all to see in this day and age - spam, phishing, drive-bys, trojans just to name a few...</p> <p>Even today, there's just no practical way to validate a user. Although, a blog owner could enable in the options that ONLY registered users can post comments. ANd in order to register, a confirmatory email will be sent to the email address in question.
