Blogger does not allow domains without WWW (naked domains) in custom domain. Here is the solution for Yahoo and Godaddy and probably all other Registrar

http://www.ialwayscapital.com/2009/0...omains-to.html

http://www.ialwayscapital.com/2009/0...domainurl.html

I was facing the same issue long back, then i solved it and wrote a blog post for this. After applying these settings (which you will find in above links) your site will work with or without WWW for an example look my site http://ialwayscapital.com which is in blogger and domain purchased from Yahoo.

Both Blogger and GooglePage (Now, Google Sites) offer sub-domain level hosting [ will work with "www" :) ].

You need to create CNAME records for them. If you are looking for a blog .... you must opt Blogger. But, if you are looking for a static site ... opt Google Sites!

I disagree with the title "Which is better ...." Both have different features and offerings :)

@jagan: Step 1: Create a blog - identify what you're good at or most interested in and design a blog around that theme. Be focussed and take on blogging like you would any other project / job.
Step 2: Host original, thoughtful and useful content on your blog to bring in visitors.
Step 3: Start monetising your users'/visitors' presence on your blog.

Build your blog like you would any other business - with patience and forethought. Don't be seduced by the dark side of things and try to deceive the Ad companies by using quasi-legal / black hat methods to improve your blog's rankings.

You can buy a domain and then redirect an appropriate URL to your Google Pages URL. Most Control Panels have a URL redirection option. Else, you'll have to muck about with the CNAME records manually.

Hi bro...I just visited the link you have given....and found these lines
"Websites created have to be hosted under googlepages.com. This means your website has to be mypage.googlepages.com instead of http://www.mypage.com."

Hope it is clear that, you can not host a custom domain under googlepages.com

As far as I know, there is a clear option in blogspot.com to host custom domain.
