Blogger does not allow domains without WWW (naked domains) in custom domain. Here is the solution for Yahoo and Godaddy and probably all other Registrar

http://www.ialwayscapital.com/2009/0...omains-to.html

http://www.ialwayscapital.com/2009/0...domainurl.html

I was facing the same issue long back, then i solved it and wrote a blog post for this. After applying these settings (which you will find in above links) your site will work with or without WWW for an example look my site http://ialwayscapital.com which is in blogger and domain purchased from Yahoo.

i already have a blogger blog setup using custom domain @ http://www.bloggerplugins.org
If you are interested in setting up blogger via custom domain just create a CNAME record with name="www" and data="ghs.google.com"

If you still cant figure it out contact me over at http://forums.bloggerplugins.org

that is the reason why one should be switching to wordpress and submit his new site's xml to google webmaster so that the blog traffic is not lost!

and to keep the feed readers intact just read the feedburner faq of labnol

When you use Blogger custom domains and move from blgospot to something like xyz.com, Google does a 301 permanent redirect - that means search engines know what is the new URL of the old web page.

However, your Google PageRank and backlinks will not migrate itself from the old to the new web page. So you are likely to miss Google Juice when switching domains.

How about individual posts, if anyone knows? I mean, seeing as how each post is its own, unique URL, if they go directly to that URL, will it redirect them to the right post? Or does anyone know?

...if its 301 redirect to your new domain..its possible that your new domain will get the PR as that your old url, in sometime or so

yes people will be redirected to the new domain if they visit your blogger domain.

AND YESSS...your PR will be zero as you will be buying a completely new domain which will have no backlinks..simple.

Hey guys, since Google just updated their PRs, I want to move my BlogSpot blog (http://manodogs.blogspot.com) to a custom domain and publish it via FTP. Will this change my Google PR and will it automatically redirect people to the new address if they go to the old, BlogSpot URL?

Thanks!
