I have been using DI for several months now and I would like to either:

1. ask for help in using the page. or 2. offer some constructive criticism.

On #1, I am 62, use a laptop tablet, and have my screen set to 1024x600 (the optimum setting for my fujitsu tablet). I often would like to have the text of a web site larger, but without the hassle of changing my screen resolution. So I use the font size change capability of MS Explorer. This works very well at the NY Times site, but not at your site. What am I missing here? Did you lock the font size in your HTML or XML programming? How do I unlock it for your site and all others doing the same thing? If I can't unlock it, please see #2 below.

On #2, what's the programming difficulty of having a site that has fonts changeable by one click from the Explorer menu bar. Are the NYT programmers more capable? I doubt that. I hope you consider the need of people to see larger fonts sometimes. And in addition, please consider the need sometimes to save content without all the extraneous stuff on the web site. One of the great things about computers is the ability to save info without having to accumulate stacks of paper torn from magazines and to quickly search for stuff with a desktop search program like Copernic. So back to the NYT for instruction. When I go to a NYT article (as when I click on a link in the newsletter I get from you), there is a prominent, easy to see link to "print" which takes me to a page that has nothing on it but text. I then do a File > Save as > HTML only > Enter and I have my page saved. If there are graphics I do the same but at "save as" I choose the .mht format.

So, Pleeeeeeeeeze, send me the solution, or include it in a DI issue soon,...or change your programming.
Thanks,

Franco
