Altamash!
I have a Toshiba satellite A300d laptop, running a dual boot of both Vista Pro, and Win 7. Again bluetooth fine in Vista-- No sign of it in Win 7. I believe my drivers are similar to yours.... I found a brilliant site that you can download the driver, and other updates for win7. Full credit to to guys in Germany.(All in English BTW)Here's the address:- http://driver-toshiba.blogspot.com/2009/12/toshiba-satellite-pro-a300-psagve-for.html

It worked fine staightaway! Goodluck.

Hey there,

I bought a Trust Mini USB Dongle (shows as Broadcom 2046 Bluetooth 2.1+EDR USB Dongle with First Conect on Device Manager - along with Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator ), and after installing the way it was specified in the manual (didn't work) and then as specified here... Still doesn't work. It installs perfectly, Windows 7 recognizes it and is capable of turning it on and off, but it can't detect any device... And no device can detect it.

If I turn it off and on again, I get a small popup saying that the device is not detectable and that I should click on it to solve the issue. I click on it, nothing happens, and on the Bluetooth options menu the option to "Allow device to connect" is greyed out and I can't do anything with it.

As a side note, I've installed it on an older desktop pc here at home (windows xp sp3) and it worked straight away, detecting my mobile phone :/

Happy new year!

I have a built-in bluetooth in my laptop and a bluetooth dongle in my desktop. Both now work with my iphone and other bluetooth headsets. Here's what you need to do :

- Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.

- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:

- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.

- You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'
- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.

- Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.

- Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".

- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.

- From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.
- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.

Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.

There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message.

I hope this will help you guys fix your bluetooth problem with Windows 7. Good luck !

@Amit: Which particular Bluetooth device? Is it a bluetooth dongle? Also, which stack is currently in use - widcomm or the default MS one? Upon thinking a bit, perhaps Rajesh means his laptop's in-built bluetooth device? Also laptop particulars needed.

Windows 7 is in BETA as you and I know. A brief google (used as verb ;-)), shows that loads of users have difficulty with the bluetooth features, whereas it works seamlessly for others.

Insufficient data to answer Rajesh's question. But further reading here:

Amit, You know Windows7 have many issues realted to drivers.
If you have created the recovery disk of windows vista home premium, then it's easy for you.
Back up your all files to secondary drive, then insert the recovery disk, boot the laptop through recovery disk, then reinstall your Windows Vista.
The best thing is that it will automatically install your all drivers and softwares.

Good Luck!

One thing i've sended an email to you as [mohit(at)techeguide.com], but haven't yet received your reply. Hoping for your replyback.
