Wordpress is the worse choice for a corporate blog because of security issues. If you are looking for a totally custom made one - that will fit your already existing corporate website - http://www.communityserver.com has a great platform with support. you pay them and save on your designer. The blog platform (DOt text)is just awesome!

Its a very stable and reliable platform for blog as well as forum.

Cheers!

WordPress is the best option. For corporates, people use Typepad and MovableType.

Wordpress is very popular so you are not likely to run out of developers or designers.

Other options are TypePad Movable Type, Joomla, Blogger for Custom Domains, etc.

I would suggest WP.

OK so main point is having the coding behind it done accordingly to our needs.

That's the feedback I am getting all around.

Thanks. Looking into WordPress right now. Is Wordpress the only free software to do this?

Maintaining the look-n-feel of your company website in the blog should not be an issue.

Infact lot of companies like http://www.techsmith.com and http://www.articulate.com have their blogs integrated into the company site.

The blog software is free (wordpress) but you will have to hire a blog designer.

If you are in US, craigslist may be a good starting point to find someone who can do the blog integration for you.

Or you may try the job boards on problogger.net and lifehacker.com.

Question from Tina: Directed here by way of Mr. Agarwal

Looking into purchasing a blog software template or "stylesheet" in order to create a blog/webjournal of updated content for our company site.

Basically, another page on the site with entries about new company info, updated site info, coming events, user information, etc

Main point is keeping the skin of our company site.

Apologize for lack of correct terminology, but appreciate a step in the right direction.
