Torrents are legal.</p> <p>However, what you distribute via the BitTorrent protocol may not be. If it's a movie or software or image that *you* don't ahve a copyright or license to distribute then you're violating the law.</p> <p>Many linux distributions are spread by BitTorrent - that's perfectly legal. Also, some bands release their music into the public domain and allow it to be distributed by BitTorrent. That's fine.
