Most of you must be using Wordpress on your domains and subdomains.. You can Use Google XML Sitemaps plugin on Wordpress for each of the wordpress installations on your main domain and subdomains..

Now you can add each of your webdomains(main domain and subdomain) separately on WebMaster Tools(of Google).There you can submit the sitemap for on each of the domain or subdomain..

I might be jumping ahead here but another important part of using sitemaps is to submit it! There are places other than Google and Yahoo. Here is a step-by-step tutorial on

How to: Submit your Sitemap to the Top 5 Places Where They Need to Be

(Google, Bing, Yahoo!, Ask.com, Moreover.com). I hope this helps! Cheers.

@lancehibner: I suggest you start with the official Sitemaps.org site to gain a basic understanding of the structure. If you merely want to create one for your site, the links in my previous post in this thread will help you out.

Hi all, I am interested in learning about sitemaps, but I don't understand how to create them. What's an XML file? What should it look like? How do I make one? Etc. The information on Google's site wasn't very helpful to me.... too confusing.

There are loads of services that allow a webmaster to create sitemaps. http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ is one of them which also enables one to submit the sitemap to multiple services.

Just noticed that while chatting inside yahoo mail it takes timestamp from client system and not from yahoo servers and synchronizing with local time zone. I found this as the system I was working on displayed wrong date & time coz of having low BIOS battery.

YSlow analyzes web pages and tells you why they're slow based on Yahoo's rules for high performance web sites. This is a very handy addon to the webmasters and testers.

YSlow gives you :

* Performance report card
* HTTP/HTML summary
* List of components in the page
* Tools including JSLint

1. Mails from Inbox and Sent Folders in GMail can be downloaded to Outlook or Thunderbird using POP3 very easily. They'll be updated automatically whenever you go online.

For SPAM or deleted items, you will have to move them to GMail Inbox before Outlook can download them. Related - Download GMail Messages.

2. None of the other email services you mentioned offer free POP3 access or autoforwarding. A good option is to use ePrompter that will let you check all your web accounts from one central place.

For Hotmail, you can get the free Outlook Connector from Microsoft that works perfect with Outlook or Outlook Express.

1. Can we direct all (inbox, sent, delete, draft) mails from gmail account to MS Outlook. But both should be co-existing and updating automatically. Reason: I dont need to be connected to the internet on my laptop to send mails, I can save those mail in sent items and send it, once the laptop is connected.

2. Since I have stared using gmail, I have stopped checking mail on hotmail, yahoo, rediffmail, but there are certain mails I would like to direct them to gmail account. If not certain mails, can we direct all the latest mails to gmail. So then I can have only gmail account to be checking.
