Chitika has worked well even for us..

I had tried to apply to tyroos, but I had got the reply that: they are not accepting blogs at this time!

Better select some 4 or 5 network and test it on your site. And if you do not have 1000 visits per day, then its better to concentrate on building traffic(I am presently doing this :) too.)

I have used both Chitika and Tyroo in the past. Tyroo support sucks big time and I just dropped their service as a result.

Chitika is good, but you'll have a problem converting if most of your visitors are non-US.

I suggest getting hold of InfoLinks or Kontera to monetize your text.

Chitika is a good option however chitika can be used to monetise Unites State's traffic. its not a good idea to use chitika if Majority of ur visitors are not from US.

to become a Tyroo publisher you need an approval from tyroo which is not as easy as getting approval of adsense. Though not mentioned tyroo does asks for monthly page impressions of your website. Therefore apply for tyroo if you have a good no of page impressions per month, usually more than 100,000.

Adbrite is not a good option for bloggers or webmasters with less no. of page impressions as adbrite though has a great CPC their CPM is not one that you will be impressed. As many of times you will not see an advt but as ADVERTISE HERE.

Adsense is a good option for small publishers and they shouldnt be looking for alternatived instead try and focus to improve your page impressions.

1) Not sure about tyroo but chitika premium is 100% ok . I am using it for more than 3 months now w/o any problem

2) You can use them, only point to take care is they shouldn't look like adsense ads. Try to change the look-and-feel of the ads.

3) ya nice idea.

4) Chitika, adify are good alternatives ...Here is a comprehensive list of Adsense Alternatives

Amit,
Though I am not leaving AdSense, but would like to try some other alternatives. So, I would appreciate if you clarify these doubts:-

1) Can I use Tyroo & Chitika along with AdSense?
Chitika site says they are compatible with AdSense and Google has given green signal. Tyroo officials said it is also compatible.

2) I can use them on the same page displaying AdSense contextual ads or they should be mutually exclusive?

3) Will it be better to use them as alternate url ads i.e when Google ads cannot be shown?

4) Any other alternate that you would like to recommend that does not require large number of visitors/pageviews?

thanks,

Hi,
Some time ago, I had a discussion with Amit regarding inserting AdSense referral code in blog post.
[details in this thread:- http://www.labnol.org/forums/topic/regarding-adsense-policies-violation?replies=5

later on found that Amit has written an article how to do so [note the warning] at http://labnol.blogspot.com/2007/08/how-to-add-google-adsense-ad-units-in.html

But, This can be done in an other way without violating TOS of AdSense. i.e. using named anchor tags. [more details:- http://fundubytes.blogspot.com/2007/11/tips-tricks-to-earn-more-through.html

check out:-
epaper.timesofindia.com (page 21, 5th october, Bangalore edition). Even there is downfall in IT recruitment this year due to rising Re vs $.
Amit, I agree that advertisers will pump money on web world (referral ads 2.0 is best e.g.) but the fact is they have to pay less means we will be paid less... consider you earn 20$ daily.. so even you can notice the difference in resultant(previous and now) when converted into Rs.
Even, I have noticed that the clicks on ads/page visits remain more or less the same...Even there is increase in readership.. its a fact that your returning visitors never click on ads bacause they know where is information and where isn't. Also there are other options like feed reading.
so, I can't say about AdSense publishers having very popular blogs, but surely less popular blogs will suffer.
Just imagine, if someday 1$ = 1Re what will happen?

Amit,
your view is rightly optimistic about the bloggers earnings.. But when i see the export businesses like S/W and BPO industries, they seem to be in trouble.
Do you see any relief for these industries by some natural market balancing?
Lets keep the fingers crossed.

I am not sure if you should be worried about the Rising Rupee vs US Dollar - reason being that advertisers will pump in more money into online advertising since the overall cost of advertising has reduced with the falling dollar.

Yesterday, I found a nice article in Times of India on Rupee rising against Dollar i.e at peak in last almost a decade. (http://epaper.indiatimes.com/ sept 21, 2007 issue front page)

So, my question is how it will affect AdSense publishers? Because from my point of view the number of hits/clicks on your website will not change on an average, but the relative value of Dollar will fall. So it means less AdSense revenue as compared to before.

Amit, I want to see an article on this issue either on your blog or at India Inc. by any other member.
