Check out APC India's UPS Selector page - you can specify your PC components (keep in mind to accomodate for future upgrades too) and then you're presented with their recommendations.

You will however have to contact them for pricing as it isn't provided on the site. Also remember to select your country as India so the correct voltage will be pre-filled in the calculator.

@Sparx
The SHARE button on the spreadsheet is available when I am signed on to the document, i.e. when I am the owner/collaborator.

The Automatic Archiving Solution sounds cool enough and is a paid service...but I don't think I'll need a paid option for my stuff...at least considering that it's not that important. Iterasi, as suggested by Amit, can be considered as a work around.

The work around I currently follow is: I take a screenshot every week and email it to self...all I could think of as I'm no geek!

Thank you again Sparx for you invaluable suggestions.

@Amit:
Thank you so much Amit, I shall try Iterasi as a work around.

Hey Amit. I had notified you about a crucial issue via email. Its a kind of a flaw that exists in your blog. I had notified about you in the email a couple of days ago. It seems as if you haven't read the mail. I sent it from my email address: bishal1259@gmail.com. Please have a look at it. I'll forward you a copy of the same mail if you've lost it.

Looking thru a spreadsheet that I've shared with others on Google Docs, I came across this:

Open the shared spreadsheet. Click the SHARE button in the top right corner. Click SET NOTIFICATION RULES. Select the options that you want and click SAVE. I don't know if it'll merely send a notification or send you the actual data that has been changed, but worth a look at least...

You're welcome.

Unfortunately, I'm out of ideas and don't recall anything pertinent other than those detailed above.

UPDATE: Automatic Archiving Solution - have a look at this.

Good Luck ! If you have the time / willpower / inclination, then give gDataCopier a go.

What is your current solution? I mean how do you go about things at this moment? Does the owner email a copy of the worksheet to you?

@Sparx: I wasn't clear in my response...so this repost.

Firstly, NO; the file can't be exported while in READ ONLY mode.

GDataCopier/API are too geeky for me...so haven't tried.

Google Doc Download GM Script needs the owner/collaborator to be signed in...moreover, this will require installation if GreaseMonkey addon to FF on all the machines on which I want to perform a backup. Though not a big deal, I would refrain from this.

Syncplicity is not the solution we are looking at, but FYI, I guess this also needs the owner/collaborator to be signed in.

Thank you once again Sparx.

@Sparx
Thank you so much for the info. The first and third options need the owner/collaborator to be signed in to access the files. And I haven't tried the second option...it was too geeky for me.

@DWiner: Does this link help ?

Also, you haven't answered my question: can the file be exported while it's READ ONLY?

See here too.

For a more geeky approach, not unlike the first one, check out GDataCopier.

And finally, although this might not work EXACTLY as you want in this particular case, also see Syncplicity - it'll sync folders containing office docs with Google Docs.

Please post back with your intentions / results so others may learn. :)

Can a file be exported in READ-ONLY mode? That might be the only way, AFAIK.

Otherwise, you'll need to get yourself on the approved list, I guess.

Thnx Sparx...but that doesn't help when in READ ONLY mode. I can only simply open up the document in my browser to glance and be able to do nothing in read only mode. When I am in read only mode, I only have the browsers menu option available and not Google's menu options (which I guess is available only when the viewer has write rights). Can there be some other work around?
