Amit holds an Engineering degree in Computer Science from IIT and has previously worked with clients like ADP, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. In 2004, Amit quit his job to become India's first and only professional blogger.

Amit authors the hugely popular and award winning Digital Inspiration blog where he covers computer software reviews, consumer gadgets, tutorials and web applications for personal productivity. He also writes personal technology columns for The Hindustan Times and Financial Express, both leading national dailies.

Amit has appeared on TV and radio channels including BBC, CNN IBN, CNBC, NDTV, Star TV, ETV and Blog TV Singapore. He has been featured on the coverpage of The Week magazine, HT refers him as "founder of the Indian blogging revolution" while the prestigious The Straits Times of Singapore included in their list of Asia's Blog Stars alongside Chinese actress Xu Jinglei and Japanese Ambassador Naoto Amaki.

Amit is also a regular speaker at technology and blogging conferences. Microsoft awarded him the "Most Valuable Professional" status for 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Amit lives in India with his extended family. He enjoys swimming, photography, making short movies for the web and Maggi noodles. His son, whose nickname is Google, is nursery school and already loves watching cartoons on YouTube.
